How to deal with ANYTHING that comes your way

When my two girls were old enough I drove them down to spend a week with my Mom at the coast.  When we arrived, the children immediately wanted to go to the beach.  I was tired and preoccupied with business matters, but I agreed and off we went.

When we arrived I noticed that the beach had been dramatically changed by a spring tide and now sloped steeply down toward the sea.  My mind was so full of other things it didn’t occur to me that the only wave breaking on this now steep slope was rather dangerous. The truth is that my body was at the beach, but my mind was elsewhere. I was not present! This was soon to change…

As I went into the water, I was thrown down into the churning sand, spluttering and gasping for air – I was completely powerless. I had one thought only – keeping alive, surviving the huge wave descending on me. As the water subsided and gave me a chance to rise to my feet I experienced the most unexpected exhilaration and joy. The wave had become my NOW. My children, stunned by the sight of their Mom disappearing under a wall of water were relieved to see me stand up. They were surprised as I let out a shout (of joy) and charged up the beach toward them! I was changed. I was there! I had experienced a total experience of the NOW, and it was amazing.

It was a brilliant gift, for I had experienced that moment with all my being.  Every sense, every muscle, every thought had focused on that moment. In doing that I experienced a remarkable sense of aliveness. And so my one-minute swim became a lifetime’s lesson.  Jerry Jampolsky says this about being in the NOW:
‘It is very easy to lapse into the past or build up anxiety about the future.  When we do this, we are often not peaceful.  When we recognize this, we can focus our attention back to the present where it is possible to experience peace. If we stay in the present, we are best able to deal with anything that comes our way.  If we are someplace else, it is not possible to make decisions.  In essence, NOW is the only time there is.  It is in the NOW that the love energy comes through us.  It is in the NOW that we are not judgmental and we can see clearly what is going on….We cannot control the external world.  We will never be peaceful if we try to do so.’
We really start LIVING when we get into the present, the now, fear and all! (Notice the word fear here.) Fear of experiencing fear causes us to suppress fear in our daily life. That action not only steals energy and shuts us down, but separates us from ourselves.
‘When negative feelings are suppressed positive feelings become suppressed as well, and love dies.’                John Gray
The present moment is like a river of feelings and experiences, moving, changing and passing. If we can be brave enough to feel all this flow, we come alive. The present moment and flow are actually one and the same thing. Right action comes from the flow of life.

You are being led to your perfect life through the subtle feelings and urges, sometimes called ‘good’  sometimes ‘bad’, flowing into your body-mind all the time. These feelings and impulses show you, or invite you, or urge you to do something.  It is that ‘something’ that is the right action, and it can only be experienced when you are in the now.

Your perfect life, the perfect decisions, the perfect experience is emerging moment by moment.

All you need to know is contained in this moment. To deal with ANYTHING, become fully present, and then choose.

Is GOD’S hand on your business and life?

In her closing remarks in her very last (and large) show, Oprah said that God’s hand had been on her business, implying that her incredible success was due to that. That comment really stuck with me.

I started to ask myself, if her comment is true, what about those who try to live God-connected lives, who work hard and smart, but never achieve anywhere near Oprah’s success?  Does that mean that God’s hand is NOT on their business? Does that mean that they will bust their gut, do their best, pour their talents, time and heart out, but that big ol’ hand will still be anywhere but hovering over them?

To be honest, asking myself this question has brought up stuff for me. I feel confused and sad. If my business is not a runaway success like Oprah, (even a mini version would do, er God…?) does that mean that God’s hand is withheld for some reason?  And if so, what is the reason?

The implications are vast. Would God not put a hand on your business because of who you are? Or would it be conditional on you doing certain things in certain ways? Or does God prefer certain businesses to others? Or are the churches right, you need to repent your sins in order to receive the hand?  Or does one person’s life path have the hand and the other not, simply by some esoteric new agey choice made at the beginning of this life?

Or maybe I am greedy, and the mere wanting a big hand makes sure all I get is a small hand? On the other hand, (there seem to be lots hands in this article) if Gods hand is the success factor in business, does it mean if a business is successful, that God’s hand is on it?   Then I get to ask: what about massively wealthy empires built on crime, destruction and anything but Godly behaviour?  I find it difficult to even consider that the big ol’ hand is on those businesses!

Searching for the answers to the big ol’ hand is feeling like a punch in the stomach at the moment, and I can’t help noticing how upset I feel as I consider that God’s hand might not be present on my business  and life affairs –  or that maybe Oprah got the whole hand and I will only ever the baby finger tip.

The truth is that I could write a book on the ways I have experienced God in my life and my business. From a being of light appearing to me in my sleep telling me about a new business venture to hearing dictation as I wrote a new book, surely these are examples of God’s hand on my life? But since I am not that Oprah runaway success, does this mean that God’s hand only sweeps fleetingly over my life and then moves on? Do I have a timeshare situation with the hand? Or should I say the Hand?

I’m taking some downtime (that means I am lying in bed all day) to consider all this and what it means (I wonder if Oprah ever takes downtime in bed in a state of confusion? Maybe God’s hand only works for people who have unending energy and never feel confused….)  and I am remembering a time in 2009. I had just returned from a trip to India (a trip given me as a gift – definitely a sweep of the ol’ hand!).

As I settled back into London life, one night I dreamt I had been called in by a client. Before I started running the session, I sit down and meditate.   A fly is circling the room. As I meditate it comes gently to reset in my open hand. In the dream I do nothing. It buzzes off to circle the room again.  I realise I could have simply closed my fingers to catch it. I keep meditating. Unexpectedly it circles and land directly back in my hand. I close my fingers and release it outside. I realise that the job for the client is done. They had called me in to take out the fly. Dream ends.

Inspired by remembering my dream, I realise that all these questions can be answered without effort. So now I meditate. And the answer to all these questions will simply arrive. In my hand. About God’s Hand.

God turns you from one feeling to another and teaches by means of opposites so that you will have two wings to fly, not one. Rumi

A GREAT EXAMPLE OF HOW CAT WORKS WITH HER SOUL TO BRING ABOUT UPLIFTED MANIFESTATION

On Tuesday I had a day from heaven! What made it fabulous beyond fabulous, was that it was set up to be a day from hell. Ok, not literally, thank goodness. But the set up was perfect for toil and trouble, snot and drama.
I recently moved into what I considered dream offices and training rooms. Within the space of a week however, the deal had turned upside down. The company who was moving out decided not to move out. Because the landlord couldn’t handle the situation emotionally, he turned the admin of the premises over to the tenant who had decided to stay. What followed was a very slick case of passive forced removal. First he refused to give me the office I had chosen and agreed, then he more than doubled the rent, and 10 days later booted me out!
When I received the very nasty email telling me to leave it felt like a dagger into my heart. It wasn’t a simple email. It was an energetic barb and affected me deeply. I loved the offices and my first response was pain. Then it turned to vindictive anger during which I wrote an stinging response to him and the landlord explaining my legal rights and viewpoint on ethics. Fortunately I decided to sleep on it before sending the mail. Guess what happened? My internet went down for nearly a week! Life stopped me from sending the mail and during that internet down time, the task of packing up physically allowed me to access a higher perspective AND find the offices that were really for me. This is how it went.
At some point in the drama I remembered the key truth I teach: anger, pain and stress close the heart. Since the heart is the manifesting organ, contemplating stinging emails was the worst thing I could do for myself, my future. The only person that would suffer would be me! As I took this in, another realisation dropped through the pipeline into my consciousness. Could it be that I was paying back karmic debt having operated that very way in business myself many years ago? As I packed up, both realisations settled into my cells, and I left with a heart open and a mind free. But let me tell you of the miracles that happened to help me pack up, and move on.
Firstly I had a significant dream after the rent was raised. In the dream I was in the office allocated to me. My office cupboard had been moved away from the door and two elderly yet fit men were inspecting the place. As I watched them in the dream I realised they were going to help me do up the place, in particular paint the walls white. The dream was so clear that when I woke up the next day I drew a picture and made notes. I felt very certain that I was being mystically helped with my office situation.
Secondly I never made plans to move. I simply woke up on the 1st, and tried to get hold of a truck. When I wasn’t successful I got into my little car and headed towards the office to start packing. On the way I stopped to take a call. When I pulled back into the road I took note that it had set me back time wise. But I thought ‘”I’m in the perfect time always””. Shortly after that  I noticed  a little white truck driving in front of me and started to wonder if this truck and driver operated their own business.
I said to myself  that if he continued on my route, I would jump out and approach him. And that’s exactly what happened. There and then, on the side of the road in the sparkling morning sun, I found the means to move at a cost I could afford – and within the hour. Then my sister said her gardener to help me carry furniture. The move went like clockwork and on the way back from dropping the gardener back at my sister’s house, I noticed a sign on a white walled property. ‘”conference space to rent (at great prices)”
Wow! That caught my interest. I travelled on. I started to go slower. That conference space was calling me. I travelled even slower.  Then suddenly I did a U turn and went back. You see, when riding the flow of life, it’s your feet that do the leading, not your head. And it happens in the present moment, not by mental plan. It’s a about responding to the desires that run unexpectedly through your consciousness like a gentle breeze playing on water. So  I drove into the office campus and stopped outside the conference centre that had first drawn me. Here, in spite of the many open places, couldn’t seem to find the right space to park and drove my car in crazy circles. Bizarre but true! So instead I continued down the road as it narrowed down and wove amongst the African bush.
My car found itself in front of a beautiful rambling thatch house, obviously occupied by businesses. Following my feet once again I simply went into the first door I saw. Glass and light and high reaching ceilings greeted me and I wandered into the offices shouting “”hello, hello””.  Not really knowing what I was doing there, I asked the first thing that came to mind “”do you by any chance have office space””.  And so it was I met the most delightful human being and found perfect offices, at the perfect price, and in a complex shared by others who aspired to uplifted business and higher conscious living.

This dear reader is the potential that life offers us all. To let go of the need to plan, attack or repress. To allow the Divine Life Force to take us to the place where we should be – not by a voice that speaks from the heavens, nor by downloading a plan into our minds, but simply by following our feet as directed by our heart. Then all things work together for our higher good, and life becomes a joyous expression, an easy process of simply riding the river!  Effortless effort. Stop Pushing. Start Riding.

Are You one of the Walking Dead?

me all rained out – but happy!

Want to find the walking dead? Look in large organisations. So many there have lost their connection to their Soul, and a sense of excitement and love for their work.

Working to pay the bills is the quickest way to start dying inside. Too many rational decisions, taking life – and yourself too seriously coupled with boring conformity, are a sure guarantee you’ll loose your zest for life. And loosing your zest is a clear indication that you’ve dropped your Soul connection. Ping! Line Dropped! Out in the cold!

Best thing you can do is take on life with a childlike mindset. Today I did just that! I’ve just started a recycling project in my complex. It’s a large place that spews out garbage by the buckets, most dumped indiscriminately by disinterested residents. So each day I take my bright spark self to the new recycling area where I rummage in other people’s rubbish. Yes, it’s not a pretty picture, but someone has to direct wet garbage away from dry clean recycling stuff. That someone is me. It’s about the principle ‘If it’s to be, it’s up to me’ or leading from the front!

Today however it was raining cats and dogs. As I contemplated the weather I decided not to be put off. Hey! Why not do my recycling stint in the rain and enjoy it like a child would! So I changed into suitable clothes and set off. On the way I got to laugh and chat with one of the gardeners, and we agreed a walk in the rain was good for the Soul. I trundled bins around with rain running down my shoulders, opened black bags with water dripping down my back, and packed cardboard in neat stacks to the applause of thunder and lightening. What fun! How liberating, and then I walked back to my apartment sloshing through the rivulets and puddles.
So dear Soul seeker, I invite you ditch, just every now and then, boring adult sensible stuff. Enliven your Soul. Keep that connection. Say yes to enjoying every task. Now is the only time there is. Make it work for you – and your Soul Self.

A BEAUTIFUL EXPLANATION OF THE SOUL’S PURPOSE & ROLE

The soul’s role is to bring you home, back to Spirit using a set of experiences and circumstances as the learning platform. We get back home to Spirit  self when we connect with spiritual possibilities. We get back home when our human choices resonate with the higher possibilities of the Divine.
The mystic texts refer to this great task and even tell us how we got to be so removed from the Divine Life Force. Levi explains the Creation and our fall from Grace in his Aquarian Gospel :
“The Triune God breathed forth, and seven Spirits stood before his face… these spirits moved on the face of boundless space and seven ethers were, and every ether had its form of life. These forms of life were but the thoughts of God, clothed in the substance of their ether planes… they are composed of substance far too fine for fleshly eyes to see, and still they constitute the soul of things. And in their native planes all creatures are supplied with nourishment from the ethers of their planes. Because all forms of life on every plane are thoughts of God, all creatures think, and every creature is possessed of will, and, in its measure, has the power to choose….
And so it was with every living thing, until the will became a sluggish will, and then the ethers of the protoplast, the earth, the plant, the beast, the man began to vibrate very slow. The ethers all became more dense, and all the creatures of these planes were clothed with coarser garbs, the garbs of flesh, which men can see; and thus this courser manifest, which men call physical appeared. And this is what is called the fall of man; but man fell not alone for protoplast, and earth, and plant and beast were all included in the fall. The angels and the cherubim fell not; their wills were ever strong and so they held the ethers of their planes in harmony with God.”
This is it, in a nutshell! read it, re-read it, and read it again until it explodes in your psyche, when that happens nothing will be the same again!
